  • Augmented Reality Software Engineer for augmented reality training software relating to the maintenance of aviation and aerospace equipment/aircraft. Through the utilization of the HoloLens along with other Android and iOS devices, my role is to create augmented reality applications that can better assist the training of the maintenance crews for the US Air Force, US Navy, Marines, USCG, and US Army. Additionally, the role serves the commercial industries as well.

The MR application utilizes the HoloLens to aid engineers in repairing the starboard side MTU engine of the 87ft cutter. The application uses 3D CAD models to recognize the ECS-UNI assembly in various stages of disassembly to guide the user in replacing the COM3 board. This POC was created for the US Coast Guard Research Laboratory using the 87ft Cutter USS Halibut. The application has an On-Site and an Off-Site mode to train maintainers before they even touch the equipment. USCGARMA also has Remote Assistance capabilities that allows a maintainer to contact a SME using collaborative networking and annotations.
  • Lead Augmented Reality Software Engineer for Avatar Partners Inc., Augmented Reality Decision Aid (ARDA) is a Mission Visualization and Planning Tool. • Lead Augmented Reality Software Engineer for Avatar Partners Inc., Non-Combatant Evacuation Operation (NEO) POC for the military and school district. The MR application utilized the Hololens to aid Non-Combatant Emergency Operations in various situations. 3D Object tracking was used to detect the 3D printed building layout target and track it in order to overlay the evacuation. NEO takes real world objects and transforms them into model target markers for understanding real world objects. The app is also capable to life-size first person walk-through depicting an evacuation. The application uses voice recognition and gestures for interactivity.

Backlog Project - Unity Mobile Handheld / VR Game

  • The game uses the Google Play Games Services API but it has not been published yet. The videogame has two modes of controls. The first mode is a handheld mobile game that uses onscreen controls and UI canvas. It was also developed to work with the Google Cardboard API (now known as Google VR). My partner (Bobby Milly) and I are updating the game to work for Daydream. I want to provide the casual gamer with an option for either handheld mode or VR if available. Game maintains a FPS of 60 frames a second despite heavy action and high detail models. Greatest challenge was to make our hi-poly meshes translate for mobile. The demo can only be shown in person as it has not been published yet.
